Investment led by SFC Capital backs full-stack business mobile provider combining sustainable connectivity and intelligent management
Meaningful Planet has closed a seed funding round led by SFC Capital to scale its approach to reducing cost, waste and emissions in the UK business mobile market.
Industry estimates suggest UK organisations may be wasting more than £1 billion a year on mobile connectivity, driven by opaque pricing, punitive overage charges and limited visibility across large SIM estates. Meaningful Planet was built to address these structural inefficiencies directly.
The company provides business mobile connectivity through its own network offering, combined with MILO, its integrated management platform. MILO automatically monitors usage across entire SIM estates, identifies inefficiencies before they become costly, and dynamically optimises plans. Early customers have achieved cost reductions of up to 28% in the first year without increasing administrative workload.
Legacy mobile providers often profit from complexity and limited oversight. Meaningful Planet takes the opposite approach, giving organisations confidence, clarity and control by automatically optimising entire SIM estates to eliminate inefficiency and reduce ongoing administration rather than monetising overages or accidental roaming.
The platform is included as standard with Meaningful Planet’s mobile connectivity, covering eSIM, IoT and multi-network services across the UK and internationally, simplifying how organisations monitor and manage mobile usage.
Meaningful Planet’s platform also automatically tracks emissions associated with mobile usage across each customer’s SIM estate, providing dynamic reporting at organisational level. These emissions are automatically offset through verified UK nature restoration projects delivered by regional Wildlife Trusts. In addition, a portion of company profits is allocated to further habitat restoration, creating a dual funding mechanism linked to both usage and long-term business performance.
Current projects supported include seagrass restoration along the Solent, large-scale nature recovery in Yorkshire, and beaver reintroduction in Northamptonshire.
“For decades, telecoms margins have been built on complexity and misalignment. We’ve built the opposite: a model where efficiency, responsibility and long-term value reinforce one another. Sustainability isn’t an add-on; it is embedded in how the business operates.”
“Our customers aren’t choosing between saving money and doing the right thing. The structure of the model allows both outcomes to happen together without additional complexity or admin.”
“The business mobile market has been inefficient for too long. Meaningful Planet fixes this with transparent pricing and smart automation that cuts waste. We’re backing Nick and Richard as they prove businesses can save money and act responsibly at the same time.”
Headquartered on the Isle of Wight, Meaningful Planet works with organisations across the UK and is rated a Best Buy Network by Ethical Consumer. The company has presented at Web Summit, Connected Britain and The Economist sustainability programmes and is a pending B Corporation.
The investment will support continued platform development, customer growth and expansion of Meaningful Planet’s UK nature restoration partnerships.
